When Was The Last Time You Were Really Hungry?

Going out and purchasing products for the weekly shop can really feel like a chore at times – but really its quite a privilege.

When did we as a society worry about how we might get our next meal, whether the kids might go to school hungry, or if we have the money to pay for all we put in our trolley?

Yet, for a variety of reasons, this is the stark reality for many across Australia.

Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation, operating on a scale that makes it crucial to the work of the front-line charities who are feeding vulnerable Australians. They work with people like farmers, manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers, retailers, charity partners, schools and transport services to provide more than 70% of the food rescued for food relief organisations nation-wide.

Last year, Foodbank sourced the equivalent of 77 million meals for their 2,600 charity partners. Without this food, millions of vulnerable Aussies would go hungry.

So, we at Quarles wanted to join this amazing initiative and support what they are doing for the community. We have placed a few large boxes in our kitchen facilities with the goal for our esteemed staff to contribute long life foodstuffs for a food drive on a weekly basis over the next couple of months.

It’s a small contribution from our employees that will overall make a massive impact and with Christmas around the corner, result in a real contribution to Foodbank and the selfless work they do.

If you’d like to make a difference, you are welcome to drop by our office, say hello and donate some non-perishable good that will go to a phenomenal cause for good.

Or, if you’re feeling adventurous and up for a challenge, start your own campaign for your own workplace and start getting into the charitable spirit.

Not only does giving make us feel happier, improves our health and life satisfaction, but we reckon it make you feel those same things too.
